Your new role

As the Principal RF Package Development Engineer, you will be part of cross functional teams and supports the design and the development of new package concepts for RF packages. The package concepts will be optimized for best performance & cost. Additionally, you will support operations with assembly related items.

Your responsibilities 

  • Develop new RF package concepts and processes to fulfil customer requirements in close co-operation with colleagues from different disciplines, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Transfer of knowledge of Package concept and development to the assembly sites and assist with new product introduction
  • Define design rules for package concepts and perform design reviews to ensure adherence to these rules
  • Give inputs for the RF package platform roadmap
  • Perform benchmark studies as input for the package technology roadmap
  • Work with Design and Program Management teams to plan and establish engineering and qualification builds
  • Set up effective in line controls and SPC
  • Co-operate with quality, design, product Engineering and assembly sites to guarantee reliable products
  • Troubleshoot and support operations in 8D teams
  • Organize / Participate in FMEA to identify potential failure modes
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize materials, processes and equipment

Your profile 
  • Bachelors/Masters in materials science, Electrical, chemical or mechanical engineering
  • At least 8 years of experience with Package concept design and development
  • Experience in design and process knowledge on high end RF technologies
  • Wide experience in and knowledge of package and assembly processes (die bonding, wire bonding, sealing, molding) for electronic components (leadframe/substrate based)
  • Experience with reliability testing, failure analysis and quality assurance in advanced package process development
  • Active experience in SPC, DOE, FMEA, Failure Analysis and 6Sigma
  • Knowledge of PCB assembly and process is required
  • Experience with surface mount technology and different IC technologies such as Si, GaAs, GaN
  • Knowledge of materials used in electronic assembly and possible interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead independent process development and provide suppliers direction by working with design and quality organizations
  • Experience in supplier management and program management skills
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with foundries and assembly partners
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Inventor, Minitab or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solving with critical thinking
