Your new role
Are you an HR professional with a solid understanding of Dutch labour law and a passion for working in a diverse, international environment? We’re looking for an enthusiastic
HR Officer / Generalist to join a dynamic HR team within a global organisation based in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost.
In this role, you’ll report directly to the HR Director and serve as the first point of contact for HR-related matters across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in supporting employees and ensuring smooth HR operations. This is a 36 to 40-hour per week position, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
What you’ll do:
- Benefits Administration
– Support employee benefits processes (BFNL, Pension, FiscFree, UWV, Payroll). - Compliance
– Ensure adherence to Dutch labour laws and internal policies. - Employee Relations
– Be a trusted HR contact for employee questions and concerns. - HR Data Management
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems. - Onboarding & Orientation
– Welcome new hires and guide them through the onboarding journey. - HR Project Support
– Contribute to initiatives in employee engagement, training, policy development, and more.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong knowledge of Dutch labour law.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written) – their working language.
- Dutch language skills are a big plus (basic proficiency required).
- A proactive, approachable, and detail-oriented team player.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related (preferred).
3–5 years of experience as an HR Specialist or Coordinator (essential).
Exposure to Dutch Labour Law and employment equity regulations.
Effective HR administration, technical and interpersonal skills.
Exposure to payroll practices.
Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
Highly computer-literate with capabilities in MS Office and related.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
