Within this site, the Center of Excellence Operational Services plays a critical role in supporting production, R&D and Quality through Maintenance & Reliability, Validation, Asset Management and Facility Management. As part of the Asset Management & Improvement team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of asset strategies in line with ISO 55000 standards.

Your new role
As a Maintenance & Reliability Project Engineer, you will play a key role in optimising the performance, reliability and life cycle of technical assets within a high-tech pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You act as the specialist within projects, ensuring that maintenance strategies, RAM principles (Reliability, Availability & Maintainability), and asset management standards are embedded throughout the engineering life cycle.
You support multidisciplinary project teams by translating technical requirements into sustainable maintenance concepts, with the goal of achieving high equipment reliability at minimal life cycle cost. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and EHS, you ensure systems are handed over compliant, reliable and ready for long-term performance.
This is a predominantly on-site role based in Boxmeer (4 days per week), with flexibility to work from home one day a week.
Responsibilities
- Advise project teams on maintenance strategies and define maintenance requirements throughout the project life cycle.
- Drive the implementation of RAM principles during concept and detailed design phases
- Safeguard User Requirement Specifications (URS) and technical design principles during engineering
- Perform and coordinate risk analyses, including FMEA, GxP and EHS assessments, to determine equipment criticality.
- Develop maintenance concepts based on risk-based methodologies
- Create maintenance plans including cost estimates, spare parts strategies and implementation plans
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance of maintenance deliverables before project handover
- Analyse equipment performance data and establish links between production processes and asset reliability
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Asset Management and Maintenance standards
- Act as a connector between stakeholders, ensuring alignment across engineering, maintenance and operations
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Maintenance Engineering or similar
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Maintenance & Reliability or Project Engineering
- Strong understanding of maintenance methodologies (e.g. FMEA, RCM) and reliability engineering principles
- Knowledge of GxP and EHS regulations within a regulated environment (pharma, biotech, or similar)
- Experience with SAP PM or other maintenance management systems
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication skills across strategic, tactical and operational levels
- Ability to work independently while driving collaboration within project teams
