Your new company

We are exclusively recruiting for an impact-driven company that accelerates the discovery of novel interventions for treatment and prevention of tropical infectious diseases. They combine world-class expertise in microbiology and entomology with state-of-the-art drug discovery technologies. The company collaborates with partners from various sectors to develop novel products and services for the prevention and treatment of vector-borne diseases, with a special focus on diseases in low and middle-income countries. The company performs fee-for-service research for third parties and also runs a proprietary discovery program.

Your new role

As CEO, you will be responsible for leading and managing the organization, setting the strategic direction, accelerating business development, overseeing financial performance, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to elevate the company’s performance and potential. The company is on the brink of strong growth. Your challenge will be to lead this growth process and subsequently guide the company to the next stage.

Some of your responsibilities include:

• Setting and executing the long-term business strategy in close consultation with the other board members.
• Monitoring and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall operations while fostering a mission-driven, result-oriented, and collaborative culture within the company.
• Leading business development, marketing, and acquisition activities to expand the current business portfolio, secure funding and open new markets.
• Developing and maintaining an international scientific network and representing the company to internal and external audiences.
• Managing all HR activities, such as recruitment, training, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee relations, to ensure alignment with the company’s vision, values, and goals.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate holds an academic degree in life sciences and has gained valuable experience in senior management positions in relevant pharmaceutical research companies. Furthermore, you have:

• A proven track record of leading and growing a biotech enterprise, CRO organization or similar, preferably in the pharmaceutical or veterinary sector.
• Strong business development skills. Ideally, the candidate brings a network that complements the existing network of the company, e.g. in vaccinology, veterinary sciences or tuberculosis drug discovery.
• A demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective strategies, business plans and development, and budgets.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the company, and a passion for making a positive difference in the world.
