Your new role
As a System Owner Engineer, you become the technical owner of one or more critical utility or facility systems. You oversee the full lifecycle of these systems—from design and installation to daily operation, upgrades and eventual replacement.
Your responsibilities include:
Ensuring systems operate safely, reliably and in compliance with GMP regulations
Approving design documents, commissioning protocols and maintenance plans
Managing system performance, documentation, risk assessments and SOP’s
Leading change controls, deviations, CAPA’s and periodic reviews
Supporting engineering projects, FAT/SAT testing and system handovers
Maintaining asset data in CMMS (Maximo/SAP) and managing lifecycle costs
Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
You will also take part in an on‑call rotation, typically 7 days per month, to support urgent maintenance or system issues.
What you'll need to succeed
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial preferred)
Experience in a GMP‑regulated environment (pharma, biotech or food)
Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical standards
Familiarity with utility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, BMS, refrigeration and fire safety
Strong analytical, documentation and stakeholder‑management skills
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
NEN3140 certification (or willingness to obtain it)
Ability to work structured, take ownership and make informed technical decisions
