The department of Animal Health is located at the Boxmeer site. There they develop new medicines specifically for animals. They produce, amongst others, vaccines that prevent bacterial, parasitic and viral infections in both pets and farm animals. Your new role
As a Microbiology Lab Technician, you will play a central role within the self-managing team of Lab Analysts of the CoE Microbiology team, and you will have the capacity to provide high-quality pharmaceutical microbiological tests and support in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations, both independently and in a team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performing (rapid) microbiological identifications using MaldiTOF and MicroSEQ 16S PCR.
- Performing microbiological test validations.
- Working in accordance with GMP / GLP, EHS guidelines and standard procedures.
- Propagating a continuous improvement culture.
- Including laboratory maintenance (including taking care of stock management of consumables and samples, coordinating waste flows, maintenance of equipment).
- Proposing the introduction of new methods and techniques.
- Transfer of production processes and quality control tests to Production and QC departments.
- Carrying out activities for the daily laboratory operations (including GxP, EHS).
- Taking care of the introduction, qualifications, and maintenance of new equipment.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum completed MLO Microbiology education with 1–3 years of work experience or completed HLO Microbiology training.
- Several years of work experience within a (pharmaceutical) microbiologically related laboratory is an advantage.
- Experience with the MaldiTOF identification system is an advantage.
- Experience with validation of microbiological tests is an advantage.
- Good communication skills both orally and in writing in the Dutch and English language.
What you'll get in return
Hays Detachering | This is a project that will start with a contract for 6 months through Hays. Extension to stay within the department is anticipated but is performance-dependent. In this position, you will get a competitive salary starting from 2500 (based on experience) and your travel expenses are covered.
