IT Engineer

We are looking for an experienced IT Engineer for our international client based in Amsterdam.


Your new role
As a Medior IT Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging strategic IT projects with the operational backbone of a global organisation. You’ll go beyond quick fixes—diving deep into root causes to implement sustainable solutions. From modernizing virtual infrastructure to enhancing automation and backup systems, you’ll collaborate across teams and time zones to elevate IT services and drive smarter, more efficient ways of working.


What you'll be doing
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Exchange Online and on-prem Exchange servers.
  • Manage backups and restores using Veeam Backup & Replication and VMware vSphere.
  • Administer Windows Server services including NTFS permissions, DHCP scopes, and Group Policy.
  • Install and maintain on-site hardware (servers, racks, printers) and coordinate vendor support.
  • Optimize print services for seamless user experience.
  • Enhance Service Desk efficiency through Adaxes-based automation.
  • Support network security by configuring FortiClient endpoints and FortiGate firewalls.
Project Work:
  • Lead the migration of virtual environments from VMware to Proxmox or Hyper-V.
  • Drive the transition from on-prem Exchange to Exchange Online.
  • Automate workflows and service desk tasks using PowerShell and Adaxes.


What you'll need to succeed
  • MBO/HBO-level education in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–6 years of hands-on IT support or engineering experience, preferably in an international setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows environments, Office 365, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools like Adaxes.
  • Experience with Veeam, Exchange (on-prem and online), and Fortinet security solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a plus.


Important to know: the role is available for candidates currently based in the Netherlands.
