A look into the life of a Business Analyst Finance
As Business Analyst R&D, you are responsible to monitor the financial progress of R&D projects to ensure that the projects are performing within the confines of set deadlines and budget limitations. You proactively support project execution by delivering meaningful, accurate, and timely reporting and analysis on project performance, thereby supporting the R&D community, to make fact-based sound business decisions. You will also make suggestions for improvements to project processes, and you will act as the linking pin between R&D and Finance. In addition, you will be responsible for the R&D subsidies, and you will perform periodically the impairment testing of capitalized projects. In this position, you have the ability to learn and work in an environment with global exposure. This position reports to the manager FP&A

Your responsibilities

• You have full knowledge of the (financial) developments within the R&D projects, ensuring they are correctly and accurately reported
• You perform exploratory project data analysis via data gathering and present the information in a clear and compelling way
• You will deep dive into large data sets to answer project business questions
• You are the business partner for project managers to ensure they are aware of the financial status of their projects
• You will continually improve the project processes by monitoring and reporting the effectiveness of the current process and by staying current with industry best practices
• You are responsible for the R&D subsidies (WBSO)
• You are performing impairment testing for capitalized projects in compliance with the accounting standards

Your profile

• You have a Bachelor's / Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other related field of study
• You have 3-5 years of related experience in analytics and reporting. Work experience at a big four organization is a plus
• You have strong critical and analytical thinking with a data-oriented mindset
• You have advanced technical skills in Excel, ERP (SAP preferred), PowerBI, and PowerPoint
• You are familiar with accounting standards (IFRS) and experience with R&D subsidies such as WBSO
• You are detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• You can manage time and multiple commitments simultaneously
• You have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• You have strong English business language skills
