Summary of position
Our Legal & Compliance & Data Protection department in the Netherlands is expanding its team and is currently looking for a privacy lawyer. The main task of the privacy lawyer will be to support the DPO in its advisory role for the retail business in the Netherlands and the privacy champions in the business in particular in relation to the developments as a result of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Main responsibilities
• Advise on compliance with relevant European and local laws and regulations and company policies on data privacy for the organisation
• Pro-actively identify upcoming changes in law and regulations of data privacy impacting the business and communicate with local units regarding trends and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support, guide and train managers and members of local business units and functions in the implementation of the company policies, data transfer agreements and other company requirements related to data protection
• Monitor updating mandatory registration or notification requirements under local data protection laws
• Handle complaints and queries about data subjects

Job requirements
• Master degree in Dutch Law
• Excellent knowledge of European data protection laws and regulations
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in an international environment
• Strong communicator and personality with project management skills.
• Result-driven, collaborative, focused, excellent in multitasking and a team player
• Excellent communication skills and able to influence decisions effectively
• Experience and interest in working in an international, diverse and fast-paced environment within a globally operating organisation
• Fluent English and Dutch (written and spoken)
