The quality team in the Netherlands, Nijmegen
A look into the life of a Quality Engineer Package
The Quality Engineer applies quality methodologies to new package technology development and production in the application area of RF Power. You will make sure that Quality and Reliability risks are appropriately addressed during package technology development. You will lead and/or support various risk assessment sessions and capture these risks in a solid qualification plan. The QE makes sure the plan is executed seamlessly and possible failures during the qualification are analyzed and understood completely. Further, you communicate pro-actively to various stakeholders. Next to this, you will work closely together with the different functional owners and stakeholders on reliability improvement programs, so endure our products meet our customer requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will build in-depth knowledge of potential failure mechanisms for package technologies that impacts products and wafer technologies.
- You will make the information accessible for engineers to enable them to proactively prevent reliability hazards through Reliability FMEA and Risk assessment for Failure Mechanism. Ampleon products are mainly in the 5G applications and some multi-market applications; the technologies are LDMOS and GaN technologies, and related packaging technologies for power semiconductors
- You will actively seek reliability requirements for technologies and products to be developed by Ampleon based on existing and future customer requirements and translates these requirements into verifiable quality and reliability requirements through qualification plan meeting customer requirements and industry standards
- You will define and document product quality standards and controls and verifies product quality against these standards to monitor product quality via execution of qualification plans and initiation of actions to analyze and understand qualification failures. Drives the team to complete the PDCA cycle
- You will perform quality judgment of production processes at suppliers, advises for necessary adjustments and/or qualifies products or services for supply done through assessment of supplier processes from a Q&R point of view, and advises to initiate improvements
- You will execute a thorough risk analysis on the development of complex product/ package concepts based on FMEA analysis, knowledge of structural similarity rules, and applicable quality specifications and translate this to a qualification strategy. Follows through the execution of qualification strategy and reviews actions with team leader defined in the reliability FMEA
- You will participate in cross-department 8D/CAT and improvement teams in the area of reliability. Initiates failure analysis activities, supports 8D team on actions and reporting
- You will actively advise during the technology development on Q&R aspects of material and process choices. Builds knowledge around failure modes concerning used material and technologies. Interacts with leading universities and institutes
- You will build and maintain Q&R knowledge, and actively follow trends in the industry. Share and embed Q&R knowledge from the technology releases to quality engineers. Make clear boundaries of the platform being developed and qualified
- You will report to the Customer and R&D Quality Senior Director
